Holiday and Summer Academic Camps:

First Focus Learning Systems will be conducting an exciting Winter, Spring and Summer Camp programs as series of one week JumpStart classes.  The program focuses on the early development of reading, writing and math skills for students entering PreSchool, Kindergarten through the Third Grade.  All classes are designed to offer a fun and effective learning experience, with no homework!  Group classes are arranged by student grade and skill level, conducted exclusively by Certified First Focus teachers.

Morning Academic Session:
The First Focus camps are conducted on a weekly basis, Monday, through Friday, each class session is for 3 hours and will meet in the mornings (9:00 AM-12:00 PM). The parent in the above video enrolled her child in the Kindergarten program, Part 1 and Part 2 for a total of 2 weeks.

The camp curriculums are a condensed program in a specific skill content that can be a refresher as well as specific training in a subject.

Afternoon Academic Session
There is an option to continue the camp program from 12:00 - 4:00 PM. The afternoon Camp Program will start at the conclusion of the morning session with the lunch period ( students bring their lunch) from 12:00 -1:00 PM, the afternoon academic session will go from 1:00-3:00 PM. During the final hour (3:00-4:00 PM), students are engaged in games and crafts.

The afternoon sessions provide a second subject for students within the same format, Monday-Friday with no homework, that can be a refresher or specific training in a subject. All afternoon academic camp sessions are for 5 days ( Monday-Friday) and are priced at $225, plus student course book or materials for $39.

Jump Start PreSchool Readiness:

The PreSchool Camp is designed to provide a foundation in phonics starting with the letters of the alphabet, the consonant sounds and an introduction to long vowel words. We teach a series of games to reinforce the sounds of each consonant and how basic works can be read using the sounds of each letter. Basic penmanship, which is important to early development, is also covered to the extent that children learn to write all of the letters in the alphabet as well as their name and address.

The standard PreSchool camp is a one week, Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-12:00 PM. This course will cover Charts 1 through 2 in the First Focus Phonics System. Tuition is $295 plus a Introduction to Reading Course Book for $49.00.

The first summer session, July 1 - July 5 will be be a four day camp due to the July 4th holiday on Thursday. Classes held during July 1-5 will qualify for a reduced tuition of $235 plus $39 for the Jumpstart Introduction to Reading Student Guidebook.

Jump Start Kindergarten Readiness : for incoming Kindergarteners

Make sure your child is ready and feels confident when school begins. Children love learning to print properly at the chalkboard, and they get excited as they begin to read using our First Focus Reading Method, known as the “Reading Code.” Children progress to reading words quickly and have fun playing the role of “the teacher” as well as participating in word games during the class. Beginning readers who know their consonant sounds will be reading hundreds of new words in the first few lessons and will be enthusiastic about reading in Kindergarten. Students enjoy the First Focus “Read and See Books” which have especially appealing stories and pictures and are designed to teach visualization skills.

The JumpStart Kindergarten class has a Part 1 and a Part 2 component, each part is one week, Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-12:00 PM. We recommend both weeks for those students desiring to cover the full range of conceptual and phonics skills in learning to decode and read words. This course will cover reading skills defined on Charts 1 through Chart 3 (Long Vowels) in the First Focus Phonics System.




The first summer session, July 1 - July 5 will be be a four day camp due to the July 4th holiday on Thursday. Classes held during July 1-5 will qualify for a reduced tuition of $269 plus the First Focus Student Course Book, Charts 1-3 for $49.

The standard Kindergarten JumpStart class is conducted Monday through Friday for 3 hours per class over one week. Tuition is $329 plus a First Focus Reading Course Book, Charts 1-3 for $49.00. The Part 2 class uses the same Student Course Book.

  • JumpStart First Focus Reading: for incoming 1st & 2nd Graders:

  • Children entering the first and second grade establish self-confidence patterns that continue through their school years and a strong foundation in reading establishes a successful pattern at the beginning of the school year.
    Student who are in the First Focus Phonics program know how to use the “Reading Code” to decode printed words into spoken words.
  • The JumpStart First Grade Camp has a Part 1 and a Part 2 component, each part is one week, Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-12:00 PM. Advanced Reading: for 2nd and 3rd graders

  • Continue to strengthen your child’s reading abilities with this advanced reading class for incoming 2nd and 3rd grade students.
    Students will reinforce their “find the clues fast” skills and work on reading comprehension and test taking skills.

  • Second and third graders will address an wide range of reading content and comprehension that is designed to build confidence and comfort in their reading skills.
  • This class is conducted, Monday through Friday for 3 hours per class over a one week period. Tuition is $349 plus the Advanced Reading Jumpstart Student Guidebook for $39.00. The Advanced Reading course will cover Charts 6 and 7 in the First Focus Phonics System.

Writing I - Sentence Showcase Structures: for 2nd graders or 3rd graders

This class develops the ability to state an action and create a sentence describing that action. This skill is the most fundamental skill that allows a child to begin developing written communications. We have developed a method that uses the group dynamics to allow children to tell the class about themselves through correct sentence structure. Students also learn a fun way to diagram sentences to make them more descriptive and interesting. Watch your child blossom into a creative writer.

Writing Paragraphs: for incoming 2nd/3rd graders

The Writing Paragraphs class (Writing II) teaches your child how to write essays and book reports using a set of practice guidelines and a structured approach to describe the subject matter of the content of a book. Students learn how to describe characters, the setting, the plot, and how to summarize the story easily.

This class is conducted, Monday through Friday for 3 hours per class over a one week period. Tuition is $349 plus level III Jumpstart Student materials for $39.00.

Jump Start Addition/Subtraction Camp: for K/1st/2nd graders

The Addition/Subtraction class explains the arithmetic concepts of addition and subtraction, provides a visual image of how basic math questions are to be interpreted and takes students through a series of games and drills to learn the fundamentals. Students will play “beat the clock” for timed practice, which helps build a solid foundation for math. Our arithmetic standards inspire confidence and self- sufficiency in identifying the type of problem being asked and then applying the correct methodology.

The first summer session, July 1 - July 5 will be be a four day camp due to the July 4th holiday on Thursday. Classes held during July 1-5 will qualify for a reduced tuition of $269 plus $39 for the Jumpstart Multiplication Student Guidebook.

Jump Start Multiplication:
for incoming 2nd/3rd graders

Sometimes children are intimidated by multiplication. They are not sure where to start. We use an innovative, low-stress technique to help your child develop a comfortable foundation in multiplication and division. Our approach is to establish a base by explaining the concept of multiplication with fun practice sessions. Students develop a confidence and comfort level in arithmetic as we work through a range of multiplication tables.

The first summer session, July 1 - July 5 will be be a four day camp due to the July 4th holiday on Thursday. Classes held during July 1-5 will qualify for a reduced tuition of $269 plus $39 for the Jumpstart Multiplication Student Guidebook.
