Through a series of drills and math concepts, children learn the fundamentals of addition and subtraction very quickly. They play “beat the clock” for timed practice, which helps build a solid foundation for math. Our rigorous arithmetic standards can challenge the most gifted students and help inspire confidence and self sufficiency in beginners. Workbook I uses a series of addition exercises for students to build automaticity. Workbook II builds skills relating to addition/subtraction of multiple digit numbers with regrouping, incrementally increasing in difficulty.
Within the math program, we set aside 30 minutes to learn from our iPad curriculum. We have a series of math programs and games that further solidify the previously learned concepts such as finding the missing numbers, counting multiples, etc. With an array of curriculum resources, we can customize specific lessons for your child. We also incorporate essential concepts such as telling time, word problems and several other skills.

Multiplication and Division: for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Graders
Sometimes children are intimidated by multiplication and not sure where to start. We use an innovative, low-stress technique to help your child develop a comfortable foundation in multiplication. Our technique is fun, we set goals to achieve before moving forward to the next stage. Lesson reviews incorproate a math game, students typically enjoy the competitive environment and have fun in the mean time.
Once the class has learned the multiplication tables, we introduce a Multiplication Workbook which includes a series of exercises for mastering multiplication. We teach the relationship between multiplication and division and review the approach for both multiplication and division problems.
We have found theiPad to be an excellent tool to augment the math program, we have curriculum on wordpProblems, fractions, etc. Based on the child’s progress, we introduce students to math games on iPad or we address another skill such as Word Problems.
This class is conducted on Fridays 3:30-5:30 PM or duing the Academic Camps in the summer, Monday-Friday.
