This math class will establish the conceptual understanding of Addition and Subtraction for elementary school students. Our teaching process is designed to inspire confidence and self sufficiency in beginners. Workbook I uses a series of addition exercises for students to build automaticity. Workbook II builds skills relating to addition/subtraction of multiple digit numbers with regrouping, incrementally increasing in difficulty. We also incorporate essential concepts such as telling time, calculating elapsed time, word problems and counting money.

This class is taught in 8 weekly classes of two hours per class. The class is taught three times a year and taught in the academic summer camps.

The cost of the class is $590 for eight classes of two hours per class plus $42.41 for the course book (includes sales tax).

We introduce a Multiplication Workbook which includes a series of exercises for mastering multiplication. We teach the relationship between multiplication and division and review the approach for both multiplication and division problems. Based on the child’s progress, we introduce students to additional skills including Word Problems.

We use a combination of group and individual explanations to help your child develop a comfortable foundation in division and fractions. Our approach is to use an assessment to find the student's natural problem solving style, and to provide techniques attuned to each student's inherent style. We also utilize iPad tablets for practice and exercises using the Tabtor math curriculum.

Students will learn how to read and comprehend a problem, how to classify the type of problem and what tools they need to solve that problem. They will develop a comfortable foundation in using algebra to express a mathmatical relationship. Part of the class will use iPad tablets for practice and exercises using the Tabtor math curriculum.
